Hanoi – Red River Delta – Co Loa Ancient Citadel – Countryside

08:00 | Please be at our office – Get Up And Go Vietnam. Your tour guide will assist with preparing your bikes (professional) before we start this unique cycling tour.

08:15 – 08:30 | After a brief introduction to the use of our bicycles and the biking road, we begin our adventure by cycling to Dong Xuan Market, a local whole sale market before heading towards the famous Long Bien Bridge which we cross towards Ngoc Thuy village.

We paddle through the small alleys of Bac Bien village towards the Duong river’s bank where we take a local boat ferry to cross the river to its left bank. This side of the river is pure countryside with traditional typical houses, pagodas, temples, local markets but mainly rice fields and vegetable gardens.

We continue cycling to Co Loa passing another interesting ancient temple before arriving at Co Loa Citadel. We have a rest at a “local bar” in Co Loa to have a iced green tea/ coffee or sugar cane juice and hear about the interesting historical story about An Duong Vuong’s dynasty over 2000 thousand years ago.

Visit An Duong Vuong King temple and we cycle around the vestige of citadel with the beautiful gardens and rice paddy fields.

At around 12:30 we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant with traditional Vietnamese food.

After lunch we pedal through some other villages to a dike of the Red river from where we pass some more local villages along the dyke before heading back to the ferry to cross the Duong River by ferry again.

Along the way back we make some more stops before crossing Long Bien Bridge again to go to The Banana Plantation in the Red River, an oasis of peace and a place that will amaze you. We arrive back at our office around 15:00 where the trip ends.
